As anyone who has come inside will tell you, we are much more than just a restaurant! We have hosted many, birthdays, events, celebrations, shows, weddings, and much more, over the last 15 years. As a result, our reputation in the community has only continued to grow. We always strive to prepare the best food possible, so positive feedback is almost always given by those who have visited Luanda.
Our business, much like our family is rooted in two main cultures, Cape Verdean, and Angolan. When our (grand)parents, Vitalino & Nha Nha, Cape Verdean descendants who immigrated to Angola in the early 1960s. This restaurant represents all of the best elements of those two cultures.
Originating from the capital of Luanda, we have always had a love for cooking, and are continuously perfecting this craft as part of our culture. When we immigrated to the United States in 1996, we brought this custom and passion with us. By 2002 we knew that we wanted to transform this hobby into a business and expose our culture's cuisine to the area, all while also serving our community. As a result, in 2003, Luanda was born! Whether it is to dine with your family or enjoy a beer after a long day at work, we welcome all into the friendly atmosphere of Luanda Restaurant & Lounge. Located along Route 123, we are one of the few Afro-Lusophone restaurants in New England and throughout the years we have become a cornerstone of this community. We are a place where young, old, families and individuals alike, converge to enjoy the atmosphere of community over a meal, a drink and live music.
